About this deal

Keep in mind that while Mooer may OEM the circuit board for Donner, Donner is cheaper because they use cheaper parts.

They work pretty well to a decent job with slapback type sounds although they don't get quite as warm or modulated sounding as BBD based delays. It also features true bypass that provides a transparent tone and an LED indicator that shows you the working state. I now have a tremendous variety of effects for rock and blues now that the Yellow Fail has joined my Donner FUSH-DRIVE White Tube Overdrive Distortion and Ultimate Compression pedals on my pedal board, which I have setup as preamp. Only thing to watch out for with the size is it won't line up very well with other pedals if you have a non cable connectors between your pedals.

Aside from being budget-friendly, the Yellow Fall is simple to use and easy to adapt, making it an excellent choice for both newbies and professionals. With only three straightforward knobs it's very easy to use, and I enjoy making spaceship noises with it. Most cheaper analog delays are built around the PT2399 chip, a reverb/delay chip original designed for use in karaoke machines that's kind of halfway between old "bucket brigade" designs and DSP based designs. Tiny adjustments are made to each string where applicable to adjust its length and ensure that the intonation is set just right. The Yellow Fall pedal was designed and manufactured with quality components, to ensure exceptional sound. Despite being a digital delay pedal, the Yellow Fall’s intuitive and responsive controls make it behave in some ways more like an analog pedal. The first thing that struck me about the Yellow Fall besides the tiny form factor of the thing was the build quality. Messing with the time knob while playing can produce some great analog pitch-shifting fun, and there is good potential for feedbacking the delay loop into infinity and getting blown into outer space as well, which is cool as long as you don't blow out your speakers with the volume spike.

In the other review for the compressor I forgot to mention that one of the appealing things about the Donner pedals is they all feature true bypass foot switches, and so overall sound integrity is never compromised. Really small, and if you use those ultra-mini "cables" (which aren't really cables, but plugs), it can be for you to step simultaneously at two pedals at the same time.As with the other Donner pedals I own (Dark Mouse and Beltway Looper), the quality is great and as a bedroom guitar player, I can't imagine that I'll have any issues with it. This is not a quick process but we believe every instrument should go through our process to acheive an exacting standard of playability. A big knob in the middle to adjust the delay time and two smaller knobs to control the mix and the feedback.
